About me
My name is Holly and I live in Crieff in Scotland. My Makaton journey began in 2020, when my daughter was born with a very rare genetic syndrome that affects brain development. Her Speech and Language Therapist encouraged us to adopt Makaton as part of a Total Communication Approach, to give her the best chance of communicating successfully, so she could live her best life.
Since then, my family has never looked back. We fully embraced Makaton, embedding it into our everyday life. Makaton gives her a voice, which enables her to feel included and valued for who she is. It improves her understanding, builds her confidence, and eases her frustration.
In April 2026 I qualified as a Makaton Tutor, and from this MakaLife was born. I offer Levels 1 to 4, as well as Makaton for Early Years Settings and Makaton for Dentistry. Makaton is hugely enabling for a lot of people, and I would love to share my passion, knowledge and experience with you.

Fully Licensed Makaton Tutor
Makaton Tutors are licensed by The Makaton Charity. Only a licensed tutor can deliver the official workshops and issue the certificates of attendance. Every workshop I deliver is one I am licensed to teach, using official Makaton Charity manuals and resources.
